Tuesday Round-Up - Seahawks.com

Good morning, 12s.

Here's a look at what's 'out there' for today – Tuesday, February 4 – about your Seattle Seahawks:

Seahawks Kicking Hunger Once Again

The average Seattleite is fairly familiar with the city's artisan restaurant scene, but what they may not know is that one of these local celebrity chefs partnered with the Seattle Seahawks to truly make a difference in his community.

Seattle Chef John Howie partnered with Seahawks Legend Craig Terrill, the team's captains, along with fellow Seahawks Legends Walter Jones, Jordan Babineaux, and Cliff Avril, to lead the Seahawks' team to victory in the Taste of the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge. The friendly fundraising competition consists of all 32 NFL teams raising money for food banks nationwide and the winner is announced during the 29th annual Party with a Purpose hosted by the Taste of the NFL during Super Bowl LIV in Miami, Florida.

This year, the Seahawks team took the cake (You see what I did there? Food pun) by raising over $170K for Seattle-based Food Lifeline at local events attended by generous 12s. Some of these events, all taking place during the season-long Kick Hunger Challenge campaign, included a Celebrity Poker Event, Taste of the Seahawks, and the annual Kick Hunger Dinner and Auction. All three signature fundraising events were supported by Microsoft, the presenting sponsor of Seattle's Kick Hunger Challenge.

The real winners of the challenge are Washington State's neighbors in need who will receive more than 850,000 meals.

"It would not have been possible to achieve this win for Washington State families without the partnership of our presenting sponsor Microsoft, the support of the Seattle Seahawks and the commitment of community-minded celebrities like event co-hosts Walter Jones, Jordan Babineaux, and Cliff Avril," commented Chef John Howie. "I am humbled and grateful to be a part of an amazing team that has provided five million meals over the past eight years. Feeding hungry neighbors in Washington State is our number one goal because hunger doesn't have to happen."

Over the last eight seasons, the Seattle Seahawks' team has won the Taste of the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge five times, providing well over $1M for Food Lifeline—and five million meals—for those in need around Western Washington. Microsoft is the presenting sponsor of Seattle's Kick Hunger Challenge, and all proceeds directly benefit Food Lifeline.

Social Post Of The Day

Today's 'Social Post of the Day' also comes from Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, as congratulates the Kansas City Chiefs, specifically calling out HC Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes, on winning Super Bowl LIV.
