The two-year-old boutique at Orchard and Rivington Streets has morphed into a retail-cafe concept. Taste Cafe, as the new entity is known, features small bites and booze alongside clothes and accessories. Menu includes Nespresso coffee, salads, croissants, and fruit salad. There is also “hi tea service” for two.
For booze to pass at 83 Rivington to pass, the application is first making its way through Community Board 3 for beer-wine privileges. It’s fast-tracked due to the level of license and agreement on standard stipulations.
Taste Cafe has been operational since Thanksgiving, when it launched with a pop-up art show.
Stephen Dee Young – whose Filipino restaurant Tsismis sits directly next door – is also behind the Taste Cafe.
